Lemon Drop – The lemon drop is probably one of the most well known summer shots. Tastes like a spiked lemonade and does twice the workload in one drink.

What you’ll need: ½ oz lemon vodka, ½ oz sweet and sour, ½ tsp sugar, 1 lemon

Shake the vodka and sweet and sour over ice and pour into shot glass. Coat the lemon in the sugar. Down that shot and take a bite of the sugar coated lemon. Tastes like the candy from your childhood, only better.

Blue Kamikaze – Put a twist on the classic by using blue curacao for a shot reminiscent of the color of your pool.

What you’ll need: 1/3 oz vodka, 1/3 oz blue curacao, 1/3 oz limejuice

Shake ingredients over ice and pour into shot glass. Enjoy your taste of summer.

Jello Shots– Jello shots are one of the best summer

Summer is a great time for get-togethers with friends and family. Whether you’re doing a backyard barbecue or hanging out in your favorite local bar, there are a few summer staple shots that you should know to either suggest or whip up yourself.

Lemon Drop – The lemon drop is probably one of the most well known summer shots and a very simple drink recipe.

Jello Shots – Jello shots are one of the best of summer shots. They’re cold, sweet, and go down easily. Plus you can customize them to be just about any flavor you want.

What you’ll need: 1 package of your favorite flavor of Jello, 1 cup boiling water, 1 cup liquor (generally vodka but you can switch it up).

Prepare Jello per instructions but instead of cold water, use the liquor. Pour into plastic shot glasses or cups and let set. These are great for cookouts or to have around the house for a hard summertime treat.

Washington Apple – These are sweet, sour, fruity, summery, and easy to take. Even people who aren’t generally into shots can enjoy a Washington Apple.

What you’ll need: 1/3 oz whiskey, 1/3 oz sour apple schnapps, 1/3 oz cranberry juice

Pretty straight forward. Shake over ice and enjoy.

Gummy Worm – A slightly different take on the gummy bear and with a much cooler look to it. You’ll be serving this one up as a double shot so make sure people are ready for it.

What you’ll need – ½ oz mango vodka, ½ oz raspberry vodka, ½ oz blue curacao liquer, splash lemon lime soda

Add all ingredients except for sprite to shaker with ice. Pour into a double shot glass and add soda on top. When you’ve finished mixing this drink, you’ll have an awesome bubbly neon blue double shot.
