a simple, affordable, solid bartending kit. We'll break it down into key essentials so you won't be left high and dry.
Some Possible, Very Realistic Scenarios
Let's say you got asked to bartend at Mr. Rich's mansion up in the hills for an evening to remember. He claims that he has a fully stocked bar. Or, you have to fill in for a friend you feel sorry for at the Dew Drop Inn down the street for a night. Or maybe, some close friends asked you to bartend for one of their buddy's blowout bachelor parties and the hotel room has a sit down bar.
Now, you know you work at Mr.Big's Bar & Grille downtown and they have a full bartending kit and the right bar supplies all the time. Well, they have to! They've had the same address since 1796 and have a stellar reputation to protect!
What do you do? You don't want to be embarrassed. You don't want to make excuses instead of drinks!
Maybe it would be a good idea to put together a small bartending kit of essential solid bar supplies for situations just like this. You'll definitely need to be able to open wine and beer. So get a combination lever type cork screw and bottle opener. You'll want to cut up lemons, limes, and other garnishes, so make sure you have a knife and cutting board.
Ice? Get a stainless steel ice scoop.
You have to measure for that perfect drink, right? Get a 1oz/1.5oz double measure. A bar spoon and wooden mudders would be good if they want it stirred and not shaken. Plastic pourers would come in plenty handy, wouldn't they? What bartender would be caught without a bar towel? How about getting a couple of stainless steel shaker tins and mixing glasses, small and large. Don't forget the stainless steel cocktail strainer!
